The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) became law on August 14, 2008 and is applicable to consumer products (including textile wearables and non-wearables) manufactured on and after November 12, 2008. The requirements of the CPSIA affect the blank products you purchase from alphabroder and may also affect the decorated products you sell to your Customers.

The CPSIA requires all importers and domestic manufacturers of apparel, hardgoods and other applicable non-wearable consumer products to issue a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) for adult products or a Children's Product Certificates (CPC) for every lot manufactured on or after November 12, 2008. It is important to note that both imported and domestically made products will require either a GCC or CPC.

In compliance with CPSIA, all products primarily intended for children (defined as products intended for use by children 12 years of age or younger), will include tracking numbers. Testing and all documentation for these products may be requested from the manufacturer of the blank item. Product testing is available by order upon request at the Customer's expense. The fee for product testing is dependent upon testing required and will be quoted at time of request. Each imprinted youth alphabroder garment sold by alphabroder will be imprinted with a permanent tracking number using CPSC-compliant ink. The required fee to apply for this CPSIA compliant tracking label is $0.75(G) per piece. The tracking label will be applied to the inside back hem of each youth shirt in one color. Our compliance number: 877-230-4986, is an unbranded number created solely for this purpose. alphabroder will NOT accept returns for complaints related to tracking information found on product. We encourage you to order samples for your client to review in advance of placing the order.

California Prop 65

March 31, 2023

alphabroder has a tradition of conducting its business in an ethical and socially responsible manner that reflects respect for the environment, culture and social impact of communities. As an international business, alphabroder is committed to providing quality, safe products that meet or exceed our customers' expectations.

The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, also known as, Proposition 65 (Prop 65) is a California law that has been in effect since 1986 to promote clean drinking water and keep toxic substances that cause cancer and birth defects out of consumer products. Proposition 65 requires the State of California to publish a list of chemicals known to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm. This list, consisting of a wide range of naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals known to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm is updated at least once a year and has grown to include more than 900 chemicals since it was first published in 1987.

Prop 65 law requires that anyone at reasonable risk of exposure to be informed when substances classified as toxins are present. Proposition 65 enables Californians to make informed decisions about protecting themselves from exposure to these chemicals. It also prohibits California businesses from knowingly discharging significant amounts of listed chemicals into sources of drinking water.

Prop 65 statements for alphabroder private brands and our trade and retail partners may be accessed at the bottom of each product page, or, by contacting the alphabroder compliance team by email at [email protected] (Soft-Goods) or [email protected].

alphabroder's inks used to decorate in the USA have been tested and do not contain chemicals at concentrations that would require a Prop 65 warning. Safe Harbor Level limits have not been fully established for all materials used in alphabroder's products, but we may be able to offer, upon request, 3rd party testing for specific chemicals in specific products. Additionally, customers may request that Prop 65 warning label be applied to their products prior to shipment for a fee of $0.04(X) per piece (free if shipping to California). This warning label will ensure compliance with Prop 65 regulatory requirements. Prop 65 Warning label reads: WARNING: This product may contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and/or reproductive harm.

alphabroder hard good products comply with Prop65 since we provide a clearly marked hyperlink using the word "WARNING" on the product display page for products that require a warning.

Additional information regarding Proposition 65 can be found at the OEHHA website: http://www.oehha.ca.gov/prop65.html or directly at https://www.p65warnings.ca.gov/
